In 2009 Go Genre Everything is releasing the album "Eternal Youth Carefree Cleanness" and to coincide with this, are making a happening, to explore what it means to sell "Eternal Youth" and "Carefree Cleanness" in both futurisic and historical contexts.

PERFORMANCES/PERFORMERS
Greeter at entrance - Ghost Cowgirl (TAKEN)
Beginning of human processing zone. This person takes the audience member to the entrance to the space.The gloved hand greets and takes the suplicant in to EYCC. This person is the succubus/incubus/seducer/mother. They are clinical and safe. They are the Ghost Cowgirl! Pink, white, medical, elaborate costume, gauzy, lacy uniform, blank face mask, elaborate faux hair. Shamanic fringing.
Door bitches and Human Processors
Tech staff wearing white with white dust masks. Dehumanised people processing audience members. One should be able to reason with and get empathy from a person, but a dehumanised person acts like a machine and this is more frightening than a human or a machine. Human processing is like putting a person in a machine and moving them around mechanically with mechanically biased attitudes to human needs. The processing zone is to create a ritual which reinforces the norms of the new space as a-priori truths.

Three or four bands will play.

Background music
Techies
All techies - lights, sound, smoke, filming, recording, crowd herding, creature handling, prop handlers. All of these folk will be wearing costumes. White "clean suit" white filter mask, white half mask for top of face, gumboots, safety vests. Maybe badge/belt/patch for mixers.
Silver flying car flower tender
This person "waters" the silver flying car plants dotted around the space and they wear a silver jumpsuit and silver mask.
Grim Reaper booth operator
This person is dressed as the grim reaper and is inside a still booth selling ankh cake and infinity cake. Has talismans for change.
Photo booth operator
This person operates the budget eternal youth booth. "Preserve your youth forever" with a photo. Has talismans for change.
Turd polishing booth operator
This person runs the turd polishing booth which offers turd polishing (people buy turds elsewhere?) with chamois's and fake grinding wheel. The "who's got a chamois" poster is associated with this booth. Possibly a tape recording of people singing the chamois song? Has talismans for change.
Merch booth operator
This person runs the merch booth and has real money for change, as well as talismans. The more people buy, the more talismans they get. Maybe an EYCC poster is on the booth.
Moving merch booth operator
This person runs a cigarette girl style moving merch booth selling only EYCC. Has real money and talismans for change. Maybe this person is still selling at the party at the end?
Procession performers
Four performers with major costumes. (TAKEN)
Ammit - (Eternal) Crocodile headed devourer of the dead. (Woman)
Warrior/Soldier/Warlord - (Youth) Youth war dead. Broken heart and weapons. (Man)
Dionysus - (Carefree) Hedonist, ivy, grapes, crown, smiling flushed cheeks. (Man/Woman)
Unicorn - (Cleanness) Purity and innocence. (Man/Woman)
At the end of the GGE performance the four performers march on to "Cyclops of industry" and sit down to eat themselves to death at a table filled with ankh cake and fluffy toys. They fill their costumes with fluffy toys to make themselves fat
and then explode in smoke and dust and strobe lights. They fight for the food - "I want YOURS" - and then the villains are vanquished. They self destruct through their own greed and fear.

the 2nd hi-fi album from go genre everything.
and now some thoughts. what does it mean to be eternal. an eternal is another name for a pagan god. it is from this idea of pagan gods that we draw our uniquely personal conclusions about monotheism, and the religious connetations of god being eternal.
god as an eternal substance is expressed as an infinite stable form of the property god. it is stable in this form, thus having all the attributes of god, and of these attributes one of which is said to be the attribute of eternal, and thus infinitude.
from this theistic perspective the eternal can really only be god for god must outlast any non god substance.
from an engineering perspctive, there is the current cosmological model which suggests that matter is energy and that there is a certain amount of it in the universe and that it can neither be created nor destroyed, only transformed. thus the universe is eternal, though its form is transformational and ephemeral, up until the point of total entropy, at which time it might be said that the universe is permenantly stable and eternal in its neutrality.
for any living thing, the length of time which might be said to be eternal, is a symbolic gesture compared to cosmological notions of eternal. it is easily considered foolish to think that anything is eternal, apon mature and brave reflection apon the matter.
the youth seem not to clearly understand the implications of the total lack of eternalness which underpins all life. it is said that youth is wasted on the young.
of course only the young can be youthful, and if it were to be true that an old experienced person could attain youthfulness again, then it certainly would not be true that they would actually be young.
so does eternal youth mean eternally young or does it mean to be a youth forever. the eternally young is a strange and warped vision of the literal application of eternal youth. the eternally young is not neccessarily eternally youthful, merely eternally inexperienced, irresponsible, disempowered, and essentially bound to the perjorative definitions and biases towards youth.
as to the biases surrounding youth.
the situation of the young is as complicated as the situation of the adult, however the difference is that, by definition the young are not accorded the same acceptance of position, that is to say that the young are developing, and are in a much more rapidly evolving enviroment than an adult who has found a place in a society of some sort.
Thus youth really is not then a situation to be envied, except that it is in the developing organism that we find the most health and the most vigour, which decays as the creature ages, thus leaving a very good reason why an old person would rather be young, and why a young person would rather not be old, except that the old often make sure that their position is well fortified and fossilised so as that the life of the old is not a life of torment and suffering. best leave that to the young.
It is not compulsary to pit the differently aged parts of the population against each other, but it is important to look at the way in which youth is starting to be seen as an obtainable comodity within the OECD developed countries.
Presumably this is the tip of the consumer iceberg, for it would be naive in the extreme to presume that it is impossible to arrest and reverse the aging proccess in the human being, thus turning youth, not into a cosmetic but an actuall permenant supplement, with a potential product life of as long as imaginable. an absolute marketing holy grail, which itself was said to bestow some properties of youth. the idea of being able to sell a product to a person forever is easily more appealing than to be able to swindle out a few measly millions for a product which cures cancer, but a product which keeps a person young, would need to be sold and resold untill the consumer became old, which is to say, never.
so then would the young really begin to compete with the old?
competition aside, the offer of eternal youth (and while we are at it why not jump the gun and add carefree cleanness) is clearly and irrational idealism which is impossible to have, and imposible to occur.
These claims are the implied truths of adopting a belief system deeply emeshed within irrationality. they are the claims of all advertising on an instinctual and subliminal level, stating that if the consumer participates within the structure of, that is to say, purchases or otherwise supports the product, then the real effects of the product will start to manifest. These real properties of the product will be seen as the unconscious subliminal and instictual desires of the consumer, and not at all the attitudes which the consumer is marketed to and may to some extent understand.
so the consumer, and indeed possibly the product system itself, may not be aware of the want of the consumer for the utterly irrational and totally fictional as defined by the cognitive ability of the human brain combined with percieved experience. The living system on the other hand, to which both the human brain and percived experience are upstart newcomers to the realms of deoxyribonucleic acid knows what the real goals of life are, and will tend to progress towards those goals, as percieved, even if the perception is innaccurate. The biological tools which recognise the stimulus do not need for the stimulus to reflect accurate coniditions, in essence they are tricked, on a deeply unconscious physical level, that the main goals of life will be accomplished through participation in the product.
the goal of life,is to live. there is no exception to this rule. this goal as such is not a stated goal, it is a natural tendancy for something which has been alive to stay alive. it is only human beings which clearly define a living creature as separate from its offspring. no other creature defines anything, to human ways of thinking.
the creature which has lived the longest, of all creatures, is DNA itself, in one form or another. This is on an organic scale eternal youth. it is the traditional reading of the concet of eternal youth, which is eternal, through the youth, meaning to reproduce is to renew life, with the old becomming the young, and the young then beccomming the old, through cultural effects.
this sort of natural eternal life, echoes the forms of nature, and is the sense in which life lives on, and too is the nature in which people live forever, again sharing similarities to the cosmological view of tranformative but unceasing material.
the way in which eternal youth is being presented more commonly, is in the form of a post-theistic materialism which ultimately and concretely defines the self as the single descrete biological entity. and it is the promise to this entity that youth, meaning vigour, will be granted, eternally.
in the face of this stimulus we are nearly totally helpless, and it creates a positive feedback loop which changes the way in which life is lived. It has happened in the past in terms of cultural disintergration due to irrational social forces leading cultural development of a species capable of rational inquiry, which lead to extictions of other species, destrucion of artifacts of human history, and genocides.
of course all of these things are 'normal' for any evolving biological system, however the difference with a rational biological system is that there is a potential for action which is based on less futile struggle than the unconscious motivations of irratonal eternal youth seeking.
another way to look at eternal youth is the idea of the sacrifice, eg. 'live fast leave a good looking corpse' the cult of sacrifice of the young in war or some other rough time, on the basis that the young can be easily coerced into performing actions which will potentially harm themselves.
this solidifies the youth, transforming the transitionary nature of youth into the permanent nature of memory and imagination, which is then assocciated with the memory of the living youth, who is now dead, creating a hybrid ghost symbol, incapable of acting in any way but being acted for and used, affecting the living from a state of permanent, and eternal youth.

Here are some images of the Unicorn for the Procession.
this first set of images are final concept design signed off yes pictures, all displaying elements of the final idealised design for the Unicorn.



We really like the direction this is going in. Admittedly there is something strangely saurian about the last two, but the reason for this becomes evident when you see the actual cardboard armature, as it is at four days old, below.

This following photo shows how it started life, as a flat piece of cardboard.

Today it will be recieving its first layers of papiermache (ponce) and starting the transformation from idea to ideal.

We have chosen to use this web-location as we are planning to place lots of images and related media online, as well as a vast amount of text, detailing the minutiae of the background for examination.
First point.
The Artwork for the cover to 'Eternal Youth Carefree Cleanness' is a combination of surreal montage, framing, digital photography and elecronic post production. The initial Surreal Montage was created by Xtian with the photography of the finished, framed piece by Vic. Armytage, who also edited the 2004 album launch concert Dinosaur Show which will be available in 2010.
Now we dont have the cover online for this post, but we will very soon, along with some awesome design concept pictures of some of the Procession Players for the EYCC launch concert performance.
We will also be linking this location with the exciting video which will be exposing all the new designs GGE are proposing for the EYCC Launch Concert.
